Fiona the dog and her guardian, Adri, are a credentialed Professional Pet Assisted Therapy team, ready to bring the healing power of animal companionship to your organization. What is Pet Therapy?
Professional Pet Assisted Therapy (PPAT) is an experience in which a professionally credentialed pet therapy team (comprised of the guardian and family pet) provide an intentional program to a variety of audiences to achieve specific outcomes in a safe, consensual and ethical way. Some of these outcomes include:
- Lowered cortisol levels
- Decreased anxiety
- Increased levels of self-confidence
- Confidence around dogs and dog safety
- Empathy towards living things

Meet Fiona
Fiona is a 1 year old short and stout, loveable ball of energy who spends her days cuddling on the couch with her parents and visiting schools with her mom. But, Fiona didn’t always live this luxurious life. In spring of 2023 Fiona was discovered along with 10 other dogs living in horrific conditions in a garage. The Rhode Island SPCA rescued Fiona and her friends and all 11 dogs are now in happy, healthy homes. Fiona underwent a spay and serious breathing surgery . She has been through Obedience 1 and is a credentialed PPAT team with her mom. Her favorite trick is roll over! Fiona spends her days either at home with her dad or in schools and at work with her mom teaching kids about pet responsibility and animal welfare! Although she didn’t like walks at first, now Fiona loves sniffing around the neighborhood. Her favorite treats are coconut oil and sun butter, and her favorite toy is her green platypus which she carries with her to greet new friends.
